To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download So You Have Been Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer purely by accident. I went to the emergency room one day complainning about severe pain in my lower right side of my back. The medical staff that treated me was certain that I was going to pass a stone. They ordered an xray, and then told me that my prostate was Three Times the normal size. I made an appointment immediately with my Urologist After having a DRE exam my Urologist told me that he did not like what he felt around my Prostate, and he He told us that I have Prostate Cancer. My Gleason score was 5.9, and had type T2A Prostate Cancer My wife immediately sat down in the chair in shock. My Urologist told us about several options that we had, but I immediately told my Doc. take it out! I must say quite honestly that was one of the easiest decisions in life that I ever made. I was scheduled to have my Prostate Surgically Removed. The day before my surgery our Grandchildren came over to visit their PAPA, and calm my nerves. I was able to draw such strenght form those little boys. All they want is to Love, and be Loved in return. That night I sat out on the deck looking to the Heavens above along with my Wife,( WHO IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE) My family came to the hospital with me for support, and to make sure that I was not alone. My Son made us all laugh with his silly sense of humor putting on a latex glove, and saying that Dr. Jelly Finger was here. I guess everyone could tell that I was getting extremely nervous. The Nurse came into the room, and put some feel good medicine in my I.V. Afew hours went by, and I awoke back in my patient room. I was feeling pretty good, but noticed that I had something attatched to my plumbing. My Doctor came into the room afew minutes later telling me that this device would be with me for only afew weeks. I honestly do not remember much the remainder of that day. I saw a side of my Doctor that I knew was there. What a wonderful, caring professional person that stayed with me until all the tears stopped. He hugged me, and said ” you are one of the lucky ones you made it” That is when I was told that we were going to have Two more Grandchildren! The purpose of me sharing my story with you is to inform you that you too can beat this disease. You must first believe in the Man Upstairs, and then have a Loving, and Caring Family, and a Great Doctor.
