It Got Better On Its Own

I was in my late 40s when diagnosed with Peyronie’s Disease. Had never heard of it and was worried about my future sex life. My penis began curving sharply to the left, which caused penetration during intercourse both difficult and painful. My wife was understanding but concerned, and she insisted that I see our family MD. He diagnosed the problem and advised me to be patient (which wasn’t easy). He said if no improvement was noted soon he’d begin treating me with injections of corticosteroid drugs. So I abstained from sex, bided my time, and within a couple of months the Peyronie’s symptoms went away. No shots, no surgery, just patience.

Was I lucky? Sure. But it happens that things clear up on their own, and even when they don’t there are treatments. So my advice to PD sufferers is to keep your spirits up, listen to your doctor, and hope for the best. One way or another, Peyronie’s Disease is treatable and curable. By the way, I’m now 67 and my sex life is just fine, thank you.
